Week of May 4th to May 8th
It was so lovely to see many of you during our virtual classroom on Thursday. I definitely want to do that again, and I hope that you enjoyed it as much as I did! For those who missed it, we hope that you can make it next time…we miss you!
Here are this week’s assignments. Please do not feel overwhelmed, just do the best you can! If ever you need some help, you can always reach me via e-mail.
Reading: (30 minutes a day: 15 in English/15 in French….OR MORE)
-Leveled reading website en français. This is the address:
https://jelis-free.rkpublishing.com/student
-Leveled French and English books on the website Reading A-Z:
https://www.readinga-z.com/books/leveled-books/
**You can read a leveled book more than once in order to improve comprehension and fluidity! Don’t forget to make a prediction before you read, frequent comprehension check-ins while reading, and a detailed retell to a family member afterwards.
-For non-leveled books, you can virtually check-out library books from the New Brunswick Public Libraries:
https://www2.gnb.ca/content/gnb/en/departments/nbpl.html
-You also have access to the Epic website. This is the address:
www.getepic.com
Writing:
-You can choose 10 words from the word lists located in the Word lists tab at the top of the website, or you can choose them from the French books that you are currently reading. These will be your words to learn for the week! There are many ways to learn words! Write them with play dough, popsicle sticks, or on a white board. Write them graffiti style, backwards, or on a sheet of paper. You can even practice them in a video game (www.alloprof.qc.ca/magimot). Give yourself a little quiz on Friday to see how well you have learned your words!
-Here is an English reading comprehension. The answers are also provided, but no looking until AFTER you read the text (use your reading strategies) and answer each question clearly and with lots of details (I think _______because________)!

***Finished quickly? Practicing our math facts (see first week of home learning) is never a bad idea!!!!
Social Studies:
- After having studied the World, let’s now focus on our very own country! Start by watching this beautiful video on Youtube (Over Canada). It is long, so you don’t have to watch all of it in one sitting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98PQ5hBHYwQ
-Then, you can have fun playing games to learn the provinces/territories and their capitals:
1. https://online.seterra.com/fr/vgp/3006
2. https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/canada-les-provinces-et-territoires-carte-quiz/id876570908?l=fr
**This second link is for apple products. You can also find the site in Play Store. Search: Canada Provinces and Territories-Canadian Quiz. Once you get it, go to settings in order to change it to French.
Other:
*ART= Art for Kids Hub on Youtube.
**EPS is still having a yearbook cover contest! The drawing needs to represent EPS, and be on a 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. If interested, take a picture of your drawing and send it to my e-mail before May 10th. Good luck!
***You can also send me pictures of what you are doing during this unique time in our history. Who knows...they may show up on a slideshow upon your return to EPS!
****Listen to a French TV show or Youtube video a few times this week, and don't forget to go outside, play, and be well!!!
*****Don’t forget to come pick up your school supplies, sneakers…at school on Thursday!!! See you then!
