Week of April 13th-17th
Happy Monday!
Here are this week’s assignments. Please do not feel overwhelmed, just do the best you can!
If ever you need some help, you can always reach me at [email protected]. Have a wonderful week!
Reading: (30 minutes a day: 15 in English/15 in French….OR MOREJ)
You have received an e-mail from me today with a login name and password for a wonderful leveled reading website en français! This is the address:
https://jelis-free.rkpublishing.com/student
You can also find leveled French and English books on the website Reading A-Z:
https://www.readinga-z.com/books/leveled-books/
**You can read a leveled book more than once in order to improve comprehension and fluidity! Don’t forget to make a prediction before you read, frequent comprehension check-ins while reading, and a detailed retell to a family member afterwards.
For non-leveled books, you can virtually check-out library books from the New Brunswick Public Libraries:
https://www2.gnb.ca/content/gnb/en/departments/nbpl.html
Writing:
What a unique time in history!! You will be a primary source of information (you were there when it happened) for future generations. In order to document this, here are a French and English time capsule to fill out. They are very similar, so you can choose which one you want to work on, or you can do both to practice you writing skills. If you can’t print the sheets, you can simply write the answers in a journal or on paper.

Reading and Viewing/Writing and Representing/Speaking and Listening:
Duolingo is a wonderful website that is free and that covers most aspects of any language. My daughter is using it to learn English! Create an account, take a mini-test to see what level you are at, and off you go! Try to do a little (15-20 min.) every day.

Math:
Math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) are sooooo important!!!! Practice these by using the Helpful sites tab on this website or any other site that you enjoy (see District platform or google for more ideas). You can also use a deck of cards like we did in class if ever you don't have access to the computer.
Science:
Your mission is to go to the Brilliant Labs website and to choose one activity that you will complete during the week. You do not need to subscribe, it is bilingual, and if offers a wide variety of challenges and activities! Pick the one that appeals to you the most!

Other:
Listen to a French TV show or Youtube video a few times this week, and don't forget to go outside, play, and be well!!!
